Foundation Justice Wards of State
‘Every child has the right to live and grow up with their parents. Parents must ensure that children can grow up well.’ This is stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. If parents are unable to provide this environment, the government is obliged to help. Often a slight push in the right direction will be enough, but in other cases far-reaching measures may be necessary. These far-reaching measures are often not based on true facts. There are serious mistakes made with respect to fact-finding in youth care, mistakes that have major consequences. Therefore the Foundation Justice-Wards-of State pledges for good legal guidance for children and parents by a lawyer. The foundation carries out procedures to protect children’s rights and applies to the European Parliament, the European Court and the European Court of Human Rights/Cour européenne des droits de l’homme.
